Gabriele and his guitar

What is "sCanzoniere"?

If you're an italian speaker you should have already understood that this is a simple word-game.
"sCanzoniere" is just "s" + "Canzoniere".

"Canzoniere" in italian indicates a collection of lyrics and chords of various songs,
usually chosen among the ones that anybody of a given age and origin knows.
The "Canzoniere" is usually the sheet-anchor for the guitarist being pressed to play more and more
by a wild group of people out on a trip or by a bunch of friends philosophizing on life late at nigth.

That's why in music shops they sell a lot of them, with new update every year.
But, you know, every guitarists, just like as every men is different from others on earth.
So you can play guitar for years looking for the "Canzoniere" that really fits to your needs and moods
and don't really find it.
That's what actually happened to me and maybe to many of you.

So, I soon started to think in building my favourite "Canzoniere".
There is Internet, lots of people sharing lyrics, tabs, chords, there must be everything!
But it's not so easy. Many different formats for songs, many different versions at various levels
of difficulties...

This "sCanzoniere" wants to be a starting point to build a shared "Songbook" less conventional,
modifiable at pleasure, easy and free to download and print, ready to use.
"Scanzonato" in english would be about "free-and-easy", that's why I decided to add an "s" behind the name.
"SongSbook" in english sounds to me closer to this meaning, but suggestions are welcome!

I decided for the Microsoft Word .doc format because it's really widespread, works on a number of
platforms and is really quick and easy to edit in a pretty output.
Since I'm italian I divided the songs into two categories, the first of "International" interest and the latter
probably interesting just for italians.

All of this is really experimental so suggestions, comments and contributions are really welcome!
I think feedback among users is the key point for a good outcome of this "sCanzoniere".

Enjoy yourself and let everybody sing along!
